Just think this is really terrifying
We discuss this in pretty much every Sociology class. And you’re right, it really is terrifying. It’s “Lord of the Flies.” It’s not Sci-Fi. This is what happened at Abu Ghraib. This happens all the time. Imagine yourself at a football game or at a rock concert. You really are just part of your environment until you can realize it and intervene.
Although I think this experiment was a little flawed. It was conducted unethically. Also, I doubt that prisions are really like that. Then again, what do I know about the big house?
